Telling the Truth....
DNC in Boston: Continuing the Trend Toward
Militaristic Control
by Brandon Batzloff
Editor, Free Voices
Boston played host last week to the Democratic National Convention
(DNC), colorful protests and marches, and the vanguard of the American
Gestapo. Amidst the chaos, the city survived and the people persevered,
but Civil Rights suffered several critical blows. Continue

Veterans Deserve Hospitals
By Grace End
Pittsburgh, PA
The homeless vet is a stereotype; anybody can conjure to mind pictures
of Lieutenant Dan from Forrest Gump sitting in his Single Room Occupancy
in a wheelchair pounding fifths of liquor. I’ve known a few
vets in the last few years, and that self-destructiveness does not
characterize my friends. What does represent them is government
neglect, like a slap in the face. Continue

Elections, What Elections?
Introducing the U.S. Election Assistance Commission
by George Ochenski
Missoula, Mt
You’ve probably never heard of the U.S. Election Assistance
Commission (USEAC), but it exists. Like so many of the Bush administration’s
antithetical labeling tendencies—where “Clear Skies”
means more pollution, “Healthy Forests” means clearcuts,
and “Iraqi Freedom” means occupation—the Election
Assistance Commission is trying to get Congress to give it the sole
power to “assist” this year’s national elections
by canceling them. Continue

States. Chossudovsky explores the legal and political ramifications
of current developments. He has compiled evidence showing that the

US Provoking China in Probable Military
Conflict with Taiwan
RE: How to Cancel an Election and Suppress Dissent at the Same Time
by Brandon Batzloff
Editor, Free Voices
Previously, i wrote about the RIMPAC military exercises being a
provocation by the US against China in an effort to goad China into
attacking an American vessel. The timing of these exercises and
the inclusion of Taiwan in them was, at the very least reckless,
in light of Taiwan's steady move toward declaring independence from
the mainland. Continue

Storytelling....
Iron Heart
By Brandon Batzloff
Editor, Free Voices
Listening to the clunk of the railroad cars passing,
Like our lives,
That crossed tracks one night and collided,
if ever so briefly. Continue

Truth Is Film's Newest Booty
Reviews by Darryl K. Clark
Rochester, NY
dclark@brockport.edu
In the summer of Spider-Man, I have been to see four films. Three
of these have been appointments with some sort of truth. The other,
I am so ashamed to admit, was the remake of The Stepford Wives.
At least it's not serious-like beating a pet. Continue

Last Word....
What a truly exciting time to be alive! Change is everywhere. It
might not all be good, but whatever is bad should motivate you to
make a difference. If you have read all the way through this issue,
then you probably realize the importance of Michel Chossudovsky's
article Coup d'Etat in America. I encourage everyone to look into
the issues that he has uncovered. It is a very controversial subject
and i would be most happy to see people writing letters or further
research about it. This is your forum, after all.
The next issue will be delayed by one week. This means the next
deadline will be July 16th and the release will be July 20th. Let
me apologize in advance for the lag between Issues 9 and 10, but
on the advice of many good people, it is time for me to take a brief
holiday.
peace love victory,
